Are there any scholarships for contract training? Types of financial support for students – what to expect? What can a student get?

For active students, the laws establish an increased scholarship for social activities and excellent academic performance.

Download for viewing and printing:

Payments to students and students are divided into three categories: academic, competitive and social. The procedure for obtaining the right to each varies. Nevertheless, increased accruals are planned for all positions.

The essence of the increased scholarship

To understand this type of charges, let’s study the procedure for financing students. In 2019 it is as follows:

  1. each educational institution creates a scholarship fund, which is made up of budget transactions and its own income;
  2. its distribution is carried out by the academic council created under the rector (dean);
  3. The fund is divided as follows:
    • for all applicants entitled to benefits;
    • 10% is planned for the fulfillment of social obligations;
    • 10% goes to stimulate educational, scientific and social achievements.

Two important conclusions can be drawn from the above algorithm:

  • the amount of accruals and the number of stimulated students depends on the university;
  • the increased size is established according to the rules developed by the educational institution.

IN in a general sense The increase in payments is made for the following purposes:

  • stimulating the interest of young people in scientific achievements;
  • support for the best students;
  • creating conditions for concentrating on acquiring knowledge and social activities.

The following may qualify for increased accruals under the Law “On Education”:

  • students of secondary vocational institutions;
  • university students;
  • graduate students;
  • doctoral students.

Thus, an increased scholarship for excellent academic performance and active work It happens:

  • academic;
  • social;
  • competitive
Attention: according to the methodology, the student must apply for an increased amount of the scholarship on his own initiative. That is, an application is required from him. But this rule is not observed in practice everywhere. Important: scholarships are awarded to persons receiving full-time knowledge. In addition, foreigners can receive it within the framework of quotas established by the Government of the Russian Federation.

How is the increased payment determined?

Payments are increasing according to the criteria developed in educational institution. Moreover, they are divided into two important categories:

  • stimulating achievements;
  • social support for those in need.

The criteria for the second group are contained in all-Russian legislation. The Scientific Council is obliged to focus on the current regulatory framework when making decisions. But the criteria for stimulating young people who show excellent results can be developed by a university (technical school).

Hint: there are a number of increased scholarships for active young people, awarded on the basis of competitive selection:

  • international;
  • all-Russian;
  • regional;
  • municipal;
  • others (for example, industry).

Academic pay: basic, increased

In general, students who demonstrate excellent and good academic results can apply for an academic scholarship. In addition, such payment is provided under the following conditions:

  • full-time students;
  • those receiving free educational services;
  • based on the results of the session.
Hint: academic fees are paid from the state budget. The fund is distributed by the academic council of the university.

The assignment rules are:

  1. Based on the exam results, the dean’s office determines the range of applicants:
    • those young people whose records show “good” and “excellent” grades are entitled to a regular scholarship;
    • for advanced education - excellent students;
  2. When distributing the available fund, other achievements of students are also taken into account:
    • participation in internal and external events;
    • scientific and research activities;
    • other achievements.

Thus, increases in accruals are made twice a year. Payments begin on the first day of the month following the session period. Six months later the work is carried out again.

Hint: Formally, young people must apply for increased accruals. In practice, the distribution of money is handled by the head of the university. Students who have qualified for them based on exam results are asked to complete documentation.

Social benefits for students and students

For young people who find themselves in difficult living conditions, social support is provided at the legislative level. Students can apply for it:

  • students:
    • on a budget basis;
    • full-time in any course (without restrictions);
  • belonging to one of the preferential categories:
    • deprived of parental care, including;
    • members of low-income families.
Important: a family is recognized as low-income on the basis of regulations regional level. As a rule, this is a family whose income for each member does not exceed the subsistence level (for the corresponding population group).
  • at the initiative of the beneficiary (you need to write an application and document the right);
  • within the established fund (funds are allocated by the state budget).

Accruals for citizens of preferential categories are increasing based on high achievements in education, scientific and social activities. But the fund may not be enough for everyone. The specific decision on providing state benefits to all benefit recipients is made by the Academic Council.

Applicants should adhere to the following algorithm of actions:

  1. Determine whether you belong to a preferential group (you can consult with the dean’s office or rector’s office);
  2. Collect a package of required documents, which include:
    1. preferential certificate:
      1. participant in hostilities;
      2. Chernobyl;
    2. certificate from a medical and social examination confirming the assignment of a disability group;
    3. death certificates of parents;
    4. inquiries:
      1. about the composition of the family;
      2. about the income of all adults.
  3. Write a statement to educational part university at the beginning of the semester (or at last days previous).
Hint: the methodology for distributing the scholarship fund is developed at the educational institution. There may be deviations in the list of required documents.

Competitive scholarship

A completely different procedure is provided for supporting promising young people. On different levels Grants are provided for them, issued on a competitive basis. In this case, the selection rules are set by the body involved in the distribution of funds.

In terms of importance, we can distinguish the following groups of incentive payments to citizens receiving education:

  • international (for example, Fulbright programs finance training in US institutions);
  • All-Russian (scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation and others);
  • regional (almost every subject of the federation has a Governor's Scholarship Fund);
  • municipal ones are not as common, but in some cities mayors establish their own incentive fund;
  • internal (the university can allocate part of the funds from its own fund to encourage young people).

Hint: the competition criteria are developed by the organizer. A young person can take part in it:

  • eligible;
  • submitted an application on its own initiative;
  • fulfilled all competition conditions.

Here is a general list of criteria for awarding competitive scholarship support:

  1. excellent mastery of the curriculum;
  2. victory in competitions in the specialty being studied;
  3. award for achievements in scientific activities;
  4. availability of publications on the subject;
  5. participation in conferences and other events in the field of study (reports, presentations, proposals, discoveries, etc.);
  6. participation in public life:
    • educational institution;
    • cities;
    • region;
  7. implementation of leadership qualities in the student environment;
  8. other (depending on the industry of the future profession).
Hint: the competitive payment is provided for the period established by the Regulations on it. Typically a year or more.

What are the amounts of incentive payments?

The amount of payments for young people receiving education is closely related to:

  • level of services received (higher, secondary vocational);
  • the presence of a preferential category;
  • successes and achievements of the applicant;
  • type of scholarship incentive.

The main indicators for 2017 are shown in the table below:

Hint: incentives and government scholarships are assigned and issued separately. This means that one person can receive two scholarships if he wins the corresponding competition.

The largest sums will be received by the winners of competitions organized by commercial enterprises. In the Russian Federation for 2019, the following scholarship incentives from private companies have been established:

  • Potaninskaya;
  • VTB Bank;
  • company Dr. Web and others.

The amount of monthly transfers can reach 10,000.0 rubles. The winners of international competitions receive even more. Consequently, the monthly maintenance of a learning citizen is directly related to his achievements, perseverance and initiative.

Procedure for participation in the competitive selection

The algorithm for receiving increased incentives is as follows:

  1. First of all, you should find out who is selecting applicants and under what conditions. Information is usually posted on the official websites of the organizers;
  2. After studying the information, you should attend to drawing up an application form and collecting documents. A university, for example, requires the following documents:
    1. a copy of all pages of the grade book;
    2. information card with the following data:
      1. number of publications;
      2. participation in events;
      3. number of victories and prizes;
      4. other achievements;
    3. portfolio;
    4. copies of documents confirming awards;
  3. Submit all necessary papers to the competition committee and receive confirmation of acceptance;
  4. Follow further recommendations from the organizers.

The distribution of personal and other special scholarships is carried out by commissions created by the organizer. Information about the rules and deadlines is also published on official portals. A list of winning applicants will be posted there in due course.

Attention: the winner of the competition must contact the organizers to provide personal data and bank card details for transferring funds.

An academic scholarship is systematic financial assistance. These are payments for studies or payment for regular assistance to students of state and non-state higher educational institutions, as well as graduate students and doctoral students. IN this moment The state provides the following payments to students:

  1. Social. Individual criteria are issued and do not depend on academic performance at the university.
  2. Academic. Regular monthly stipend, which is given based on the results of exams and tests.
  3. Named. For example, those issued by various special patrons, and one-time payments named after them.
  4. Potanin scholarship. Awarded according to the competition passed by teachers and masters. Participants go through two stages that determine 300 winners.
  5. Academic scholarship for graduate students and doctoral students. Accrued if all required exams are passed with positive marks.
  6. Increased scholarships. Received by students studying for full-time, after completed exams and tests, having excellent grades in the record book.
  7. Payments based on Unified State Examination scores. Funding is provided to first-year students who have achieved the required scores based on the Unified State Examination results.
  8. Presidential Encouragements Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation. Issued to full-time students based on the results of excellent studies for all years, the results are based on the grade book.

Each university receives funding from the state and manages it in relation to scholarships. Non-governmental institutions can also introduce a full-time budget department, where financing will be carried out, but not with public funds.

It is appointed taking into account the information of the act drawn up by the leadership of the institution. Payments are made monthly to your personal account. A scholarship is automatically awarded to those individuals who:

  • They are in full-time training.
  • They complete the half-year with sessions for positive assessments, this is not lower than four points.
  • They study on a budget basis.
Automatically, in the first semester, students all receive financial academic assistance. From the second semester, calculations based on the results of training begin, and those who cannot “fly away” from the scholarship are eliminated. Other charges regarding social scholarships. It is given to students without regard to whether the student is a good student.

The minimum scholarship rate for the current year is set at 1,370 rubles; for students studying at state technical schools, the rate is 487 rubles. Higher educational institutions cannot by law provide funding to students in an amount less than that specified by law.

Stopping funding for students

The university has the right to stop payments in the event of:

  • If a document on deduction is signed.
  • If the student failed tests and exams over the past semester.
  • If the student’s grades for the past month were below four points.

What scholarship is awarded for the current year?

The legislation of the Russian Federation establishes a minimum rate for financing university students. Each university receives funding from the state and manages it in relation to scholarships. Non-governmental institutions can also introduce a full-time budget department, where financing will be carried out, but not with public funds.

The minimum scholarship rate for the current year is set at 1,370 rubles; for students studying at state technical schools, the rate is 487 rubles. Higher educational institutions cannot by law provide funding to students in an amount less than that specified by law. The rate may be higher for certain awards.

The amount of additional payment to students is determined separately by the management of the university. This issue is decided by the academic commission of the institution, and representatives of the student government body must take part.

Social benefits for students

According to educational legislation, state social payments are designated; they can be received by:

  • Students who are:
    • Complete orphans who do not have a single parent or guardian.
    • Students who have given birth to a child and are a single mother or single father.
    • Students who lost guardians and direct relatives during their studies.
    • People with disabilities and disability.
  • People who were in the city during the Chernobyl accident and who participated in the liquidation of the consequences.
  • Students who received a disability after military action or an illness that was acquired after being on the line of combat and hostilities.
  • Citizens who serve under contract for several years in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

How to apply and how to receive

If a person is a first-year student (bachelor, master) and has a budget-funded form of study, he must arrange the required payments from the first year. To receive funding into a bank account, it is mandatory to submit its number to the accounting department of the higher education institution. educational institution. Also, the accounting department clarifies all the necessary information about the receipt of money into the account.

Also, the scholarship is received at the box office (if the student comes from another state, he will not have this opportunity, since the scholarship must be transferred only to a bank account).

All other students (starting from the second semester of the first year) receive a state academic scholarship, which is assigned in the winter after passing exams and tests. Accruals are also made when students are not studying: during the winter holidays, as well as in the summer, but it is considered that this is payment for the new semester.

If a student is paid other fees, support, compensation and bonuses, then the main academic fee does not depend on them.

Majority modern students looking for ways to earn extra money. Finding a job without experience is not easy, and combining it with study is difficult. There are options that are traditionally used by students all over the world: waiters in cafes, promoter consultants, merchandisers, etc.

Despite the belief that students should use their years of study solely to gain knowledge, most modern students are looking for ways to earn extra money. Some of them are unable to support their parents and pay for their studies, others themselves strive for independence: they want to live separately and have their own money.

And they are right: many parents deny their children their own opinion, even if they are no longer children, but still live at their parents’ expense, in accordance with the saying: “He who pays the piper calls the tune.”

Where can students find income that allows them to combine work with study?

1. Working as waiters

Most often, students work as waiters, baristas, auxiliary workers (preparing food for cooking - cleaning, cutting), dishwashers in all kinds of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias, etc.

Job search sites offer them flexible work hours. The main requirements for applicants are secondary education, activity, decency, and non-conflict.

For a while summer holidays students can sign a contract and work as waiters abroad - in, etc., where the pay is many times higher. For example, a summer salary as a waiter in a coffee shop or a candy store in Dubai will allow a student to rent an apartment and live comfortably all year, devoting time only to study. Of course, without knowledge in English On a conversational level, getting this job will not work.

By the way, some employers prefer to hire students and place vacancy announcements on notice boards near dean’s offices.

2. Sociable students are willingly hired as promoter-consultants

The essence of their work is advertising of goods, promoting the promotion of goods or services on the market. This includes distributing samples and flyers, participating in promotions and exhibitions, organizing surveys, participating in product tastings, etc.

The main requirement for an applicant is cultural communication skills, goodwill, which allows you to remember a lot of new information, literacy, the ability to quickly find a way out of possible problems, and, of course, attractive appearance. Working hours are usually 3-4 hours a day.

The amount of earnings depends on several factors: the type of work performed, the number of attracted consumers. Work in the evening or at night is paid higher. Boys and girls with a presentable appearance earn more as they represent the “face” of the company.

3. Work as merchandisers

Many students work part-time as merchandisers, who arrange goods on shelves in stores and supermarkets, control price tags, and as supervisors, intermediaries between employees and management. A team of promoters is usually subordinate to the supervisor. The job requires certain professional skills, so the requirements for applicants are more stringent, and it is more suitable for students - future managers and economists.

The main requirements are communication skills and stress resistance. Some students prefer to manage their own free time and depend only on themselves, so they are looking for other options for earning money. For example:

4. Translation of texts

The Advego exchange provides ample opportunities for making money on the Internet. The Copylancer.ru exchange is for those who, as they say, have already eaten the dog on copyright and write almost perfectly, without spelling, grammatical and stylistic errors.

Perhaps someone will be satisfied with the conditions offered by the Textsale.ru exchange, where earnings depend on the rating: one point is awarded for each purchased article, a high rating ensures greater popularity, which means that as the rating increases, articles will be sold at a higher price. More details about registration, payment principles and order fulfillment can be found directly on the sites themselves.

6. Earning money from photo banks

Students interested in photography can earn... Thanks to modern photographic equipment, even non-professionals can take pretty decent photographs. The main thing is that they are unique and do not “shine” anywhere else. Photos can be sold on special websites, in photo banks - Dreamstime.com (beginners should start there), Depositphotos.com (you can also put up videos for sale here, but the requirements for applicants are more stringent). And, of course, Shutterstock.com. Successful photos from your smartphone can be “attached” to a photo bank thanks to the free Clashot application.

7. You can earn money by writing reviews and comments

To write reviews about products or services, you just need to register on a site like Otzovik, and comments on ForumOK. To write comments, you need to create accounts on social networks and “link” them to personal account on ForumOK. This job is suitable for those who like to communicate, give advice, and exchange experiences.

8. Earning money from clicks

For those who want to earn a little extra money without really straining themselves, we can advise you to earn money on the most common clicks - just follow certain links and stay on the specified site for 10-15 seconds. Or answer a few simple questions, go through simple tests or complete basic tasks.

Websites offering such work -

Due to their enormous popularity among users, the sites have chosen many advertising companies to place advertisements and news, which provides them with additional traffic. Various communities and interest groups are created for a reason, but to attract users. The essence of the work is simple - you need to join groups, like pictures and photos, post posts, subscribe to news.

Resources that provide work on social networks are Likesrock, Liked.ru, V-like.ru, VKtarget.ru, etc.

Money for working online is usually withdrawn to the payment systems PayPal, PAYEER, WebMonay. When looking for a job, there is no need to be overly gullible and agree to dubious offers of highly paid work in a modern office that does not require qualifications, or to offers to sell goods of which we are not sure of the quality.

Those who look for work on sites without taking an interest in their reputation can also “get screwed” - on scam sites that promise a lot, but after doing the work they “throw away”.

You should not respond to any work-from-home job offer that asks you to send money to the potential employer in advance, for example, to receive further instructions, to pay for the raw materials from which the work will be done.

Study with C grades, participate in competitions and pass the GTO standards

I am a master's student at the Faculty of Economics at St. Petersburg State University. My scholarship is 16,485 rubles.

Lyudmila Levitina

receives an increased scholarship

Types of scholarships

I come from a wealthy family, I do not participate in Olympiads and do not play for the faculty volleyball team. But I won the competition of the Potanin Charitable Foundation and am studying well and excellently.

This article will tell you how to receive additional scholarships and payments even with C grades in your record.

Ask for social assistance

These are scholarships and payments related to the insufficient income of parents and the financial condition of the family. They are paid by the university, city, country and even charitable foundations.

State social scholarship

Some students are entitled to social scholarship, even if they study with C grades. Social scholarships can be received by orphans, disabled people, veterans, contract workers and victims of radiation disasters. A social scholarship can also be awarded to those who receive state social assistance, for example, low-income students.

To formalize everything, you need to contact your social protection department or MFC. There they will calculate the income, assess the life circumstances of a particular student and, if required, within ten days they will issue a certificate for the university - on paper or electronically, if issued through the government services website.

If a student lives in a dormitory and receives only an academic scholarship of 1,484 rubles, he may be recognized as a “low-income person living alone.” Social workers will ask if you receive money from your parents and how much. But there is no need to confirm this with any documents.

Documents that social security authorities may request:

  1. Passport.
  2. Certificate of registration in form No. 9 or certificate of registration at the place of residence in form No. 3.
  3. Certificate from the university indicating the course, form and period of study.
  4. Certificate of ownership of property.
  5. A document confirming the right to benefits: a certificate of serving a sentence by parents, a death certificate of parents, a certificate of disability, etc.
  6. Documents confirming income.

The social scholarship is assigned for a year from the date of issue of the certificate. If the certificate was issued in May 2017, but the student brought it to the university only in September, then the social scholarship will be paid from September 2017 to May 2018 while the certificate is valid. Then the documents will have to be completed again.

The university will help you understand the rules for awarding social scholarships: they follow the laws and know who is entitled to what. But they may not specifically talk about the new rules. It’s better to go to the dean’s office and personally find out what a particular student in a difficult life situation can receive from the state.

Increased social scholarship

Sum: no less than an increase to the subsistence level.
Payouts: once a month for a year.
Innings: at the beginning of the semester.

First- and second-year specialists and bachelors can apply for an increased social scholarship if they already receive a regular social scholarship, and also if they have only one parent who is disabled in the first group. This scholarship is paid only to good and excellent students.

The size of the increased scholarship is set by the university, but it must increase the student’s income to the subsistence level per capita. This standard is set by the government. The cost of living is taken for the fourth quarter of the year before the formation of the scholarship fund. For example, in the fourth quarter of 2016, the cost of living per capita was 9,691 rubles. That is, if a St. Petersburg State University student receiving an academic and social scholarship of 1,485 and 2,228 rubles wins a competition for an increased social scholarship, it must be at least 5,978 rubles.

The exact amount of the increased scholarship is determined by the university, taking into account educational program, course and scholarship fund size. At St. Petersburg State University, a competition for such a scholarship is held once a semester. It may be different at other universities, so it is better to check with the dean’s office or academic department.

Material aid

Sum: no more than 12 social scholarships.
Payouts: once a month during the semester.
Innings: announces the university.

The criteria for receiving financial assistance are much wider than for social scholarships. The university pays it from its budget once a quarter, and the minimum amount is not fixed anywhere. Payments are often based on how many students needed assistance that quarter.

You can ask the university for financial assistance if your parents are divorced, if you have children, or if you got sick and bought expensive drugs. The university will need to provide the child’s birth certificate, treatment contracts and receipts for medications.

Full list situations in which the university helps students in need must be looked for in official documents. St. Petersburg State University pays for tickets for students from other cities and countries from St. Petersburg home and back for the holidays, and St. Petersburg State Economic University “donates” money for students’ weddings.

Scholarship program "A+"

If you study without C grades, then low-income student may apply for the “Five plus” scholarship from the “Creation” charity foundation. Students no older than 21 years old can participate in the competition. Advantage is given to excellent students and winners of Olympiads, competitions, sports competitions. Achievements are taken into account over the past two years.

Documents for the “Five Plus” program:

  1. Application.
  2. Certificate of academic performance with the university seal.
  3. Copy of the passport.
  4. Documents confirming that the student is under guardianship and trusteeship, and other documents providing benefits (for members of foster families, disabled people, refugees, etc.).
  5. Certificate of income of all family members in form 2-NDFL or certificate of recognition of the family as low-income.
  6. An extract from the house register about the composition of the family, certified by the original seal.
  7. Certificates, diplomas, student award certificates for the last two years of study.
  8. Photo (any photo, not a passport photo).
  9. Motivation letter.

Play on the football team or drama club

State universities pay increased scholarships to successful students. Achievements are taken into account in five areas: studies, science, sports, social activities and creativity.

At St. Petersburg State University, achievements are assessed with points. The more areas covered, the higher the chances of receiving a scholarship. A student with a GTO badge who won the competition environmental poster, will receive more points than a student who wins five Olympiads in one subject. In this case, grades are only one of many criteria; it is not necessary to study with excellent marks to participate in the competition.

An increased state academic scholarship (PGAS) is about 10,000 rubles at St. Petersburg State University, from 5,000 to 30,000 rubles at HSE. In most universities, the amount of the scholarship changes every semester: it depends on the size of the fund, the number of students and their achievements. There are universities where the size is fixed. For example, at St. Petersburg State University active students are paid 8,000 rubles. PGAS is paid once a month during the semester. Documents for PGAS must be submitted at the beginning of the semester.

Community Service Scholarship

In order for the university to take into account your achievements in social activities, you need to participate in organizing university events or highlight them in in social networks, student newspapers. A student who helped organize KVN and covered an event in the KVN group on VKontakte will receive more competitive points than a student who organized KVN and “What? Where? When?".

For example, you can volunteer to help with a scientific conference - handing out badges to participants - and ask for a confirmation letter from the department. Other options: open a student debate or cross-stitch club, write about the Miss University competition in the student newspaper.

It is worth checking with the commission what kind of documentary evidence is needed. At St. Petersburg State University, for example, a screenshot of a list of group administrators and a link to a page on VKontakte were accepted as confirmation.

Scholarship for creativity

Creative achievements are considered victories in competitions, public exhibitions and performances, and organization of events. If you participated in an exhibition or performed at an evening of stand-up comedians, ask for certificates from the organizers. If these are not expected, prepare the document yourself and ask the organizer to sign and seal it.

Creative competitions can be searched on the websites “All competitions”, “Enti-inform”, “Grantist” and “Theories and Practices”, on the website and on social networks of your university. Many competitions themselves offer a cash prize. For example, for the best paper bag design you can get 1,100 euros, and for an essay on Ayn Rand's novel - $2,000.

Sports Achievement Scholarship

In order for the scholarship commission to award competitive points for sports success, you must either win competitions, or participate in “socially significant sporting events,” or pass the GTO standards for a gold badge. How significant the event is will be determined by the university.

In St. Petersburg, GTO testing centers were opened in every district. In many universities, sports departments organize standards for students and staff. At St. Petersburg State University, on February 26, 2017, cross-country skiing was taken, and on May 15, shot and ran. To receive a gold TRP badge, you need to pass eight out of eleven tests. Four tests are required: a hundred-meter run, a three-kilometer run, a 16-kilogram weight pull or snatch, and a standing forward bend on a gymnastics bench.

Increased scholarship points for athletic achievements cannot be received simultaneously with the President's Scholarship for athletes. Members of Russian teams in Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic sports, as well as candidates for them and coaches, are paid 32,000 rubles per month, regardless of whether they study at a university or not.

Study well and publish scientific papers

Excellent students and young scientists can apply not only for PGAS. Such students are encouraged by many: the president, the Ministry of Education, regional authorities, and banks and charitable foundations. Some universities increase stipends for students immediately after an excellent exam. For example, at St. Petersburg State University, excellent students are paid 4,000 rubles, while good students are paid 2,000.

Please check with universities, foundations or companies for deadlines for submitting documents for all these scholarships. Universities most often collect applications in the spring.

Increased academic scholarship

To receive PGAS points for excellent academic performance, there are three options:

  • pass two sessions in a row with excellent marks;
  • receive a prize for a project or development work;
  • win a thematic competition, such as the Olympics.

Achievements are taken into account only for the past year.

Scientific achievements are considered to be a prize for research work or a grant for it, publication in a scientific journal or a patent for an invention.

How to publish an article in a scientific journal

Almost all universities hold conferences for young scientists. Scientific competitions and conferences for students can also be searched on the websites “All competitions”, “Enti-inform”, “Grantist” and “Theories and Practices”, as well as on specialized ones - “Scientific conferences of Russia”, “All sciences”, on the site Directorate of Scientific Research of St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology and in the scientific calendar "Lomonosov".

Usually, for an application you need to write the abstract of a report that is supposed to be read at the conference, sometimes you need to send the entire article. The abstracts will then be published in the conference proceedings, and this can be submitted to the scholarship committee. For your speech you can receive a prize and an invitation to publish a full article in a scientific journal or an expanded collection.

In Russia scientific journals undergo certification by the Higher Attestation Commission (Higher Attestation Commission), but publication in a journal included in the RSCI (Russian Index) may also be suitable for a scholarship scientific citation) or Scientific electronic library Elibrary.ru. Each journal has its own conditions for publication. For example, according to the rules for publication in the monthly magazine “Young Scientist” you need to pay 210 rubles for the first page and 168 rubles for the next. The article will be reviewed by the journal's editorial board within 3-5 days, it will be published in the next issue, and a certificate of publication will be sent immediately after payment.

For the competition, prepare the same diplomas, certificates and publications. The selection process is not as strict as for state scholarships for scientists, so performance at a conference can be considered as an achievement, not just victory.

Also prepare a resume and a motivation letter template. "BP" and "Ak Bars" invite students to interviews. Google asks for a letter of recommendation from a teacher, supervisor, or instructor.

Win the business game

Business games are an option for the charismatic and brave. The jury will look at leadership skills, ability to work in a team and creativity. There are many such student competitions, but not all provide real scholarships. For example, the “Troika Dialogue Scholarship Program” is only called a scholarship: students are paid for transportation to Skolkovo and accommodation there, and finalists are invited to internships at partner companies of the program.

Potanin Foundation Scholarship Program

Sum: 15,000 rubles.
Payouts: once a month from February until the end of training.
Innings: in the fall.

The Potanin Foundation pays scholarships to master's students who study full-time department. They don’t look at grades: I graduated from the specialty with C’s, but that didn’t stop me from winning.

The competition has two selection stages. In absentia, you need to fill out a form with personal data, the topic of your master's thesis, work and volunteer experience. You will have to prepare three essays: a popular science essay on the topic of your dissertation, a motivation letter, and an essay about five memorable and significant events in your life.

Documents for the Potanin Foundation scholarship:

  1. Copy of higher education diploma (bachelor, specialist).
  2. Recommendation of the scientific supervisor (supervisor) master's program, head of the department).

Second round - business game. From morning to evening - tests for teamwork, leadership qualities, creativity. Every year there are new competitions. I took part in the competition in 2015. In one competition, you had to write five associations to the word “blue”; in another, you had to distribute the budget of a charitable foundation together with a group of students.

The most difficult task was for multitasking. It was necessary to lead the company and distribute vacations, hold meetings, and calculate profits during the working day. The sheet with the profit calculation was stuck to my folder. I noticed this when the 40 minutes for the task were up. I had to quickly “delegate” the task to one of the “employees”.

The ability to negotiate with people was tested role-playing game"Barriers". Two students had to coordinate their project in three instances. The “barriers” were other students. For example, children's excursions to Peter and Paul Fortress the head of the excursions department, the PR person and the museum director had to approve. The authors of the project had to understand why their project “does not allow” the barrier and offer a compromise.

Among all the benefits that student life brings with it, a scholarship is far from the least among them. Financial rewards must be provided for academic success and other activities related to the affairs of the higher educational institution. This helps motivate young people to further improve in the sciences they are studying, volunteer and administrative activities, as well as wisely manage their first significant funds.

Often, mainly among freshmen, the question arises: Is it possible to receive a scholarship while studying at a university on a contract basis? At the moment, the answer to this question is unequivocal - no, you cannot receive a scholarship on a contract.

Selection for a budget-funded form of education occurs mainly based on competitive scores and the achievements of the applicant himself. Assessing all the work he has done (in particular in his studies), state bears the cost of receiving higher education such a student. At the same time, giving him an academic scholarship every month for further efforts and successes.

The contract form of training assumes that for the student’s training natural or legal person. The amount of tuition fees differs depending on the university itself and the chosen specialty.
If a student performs well in his studies and proves his efforts by the results of the completed sessions, he will be able to apply for a transfer from a contract form of study to a budget one (subject to availability of places). To do this, you will need to collect several documents and certificates and take them to the dean’s office.

However, training on a budgetary basis is not the only way receiving financial assistance. As you know, scholarships happen several types: academic scholarship, social scholarship, government scholarship, presidential scholarship, scholarships from legal entities or individuals.

Academic scholarship designed for students studying on a budget for academic success. Government and presidential scholarships are paid for special merits and achievements in the sciences being studied. A social scholarship awarded to a specific list of categories of students: from among orphans, children deprived of parental care, victims of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster, from low-income families, from the group of disabled people of groups I-III and other categories.

A social scholarship can be paid to a student with budget form training, and a student with a contract. And receiving an academic scholarship does not overlap with receiving a social scholarship, since both of them have different goals.
To receive such a social scholarship, a student also needs to submit an application to the dean’s office and provide a certain list of documents.

Sometimes some students try to get a social scholarship dishonestly, because they do not want to spend effort on getting an academic one. You can, of course, find an excuse for them (material assistance is never superfluous), but by their actions they actually take away material assistance from those who need it more, for whom receiving a scholarship can at least help a little in overcoming the difficulties of life and the blows of fate.
Therefore, every university tries to motivate its students to take their studies and acquiring knowledge seriously. After all, this path leads not only to transferring education to a budgetary basis and receiving a monthly academic stipend, but also to acquiring skills that will help to cope with future problems in the professional field and in life.
