The Northern Regional Electrical College was organized by the decision of the Northern Regional Executive Committee of the Soviets of Workers' and Peasants' Deputies on May 5, 1930 in Arkhangelsk on the basis of the 3rd second-level school. He was given the task of training electrical engineers of strong and weak currents (radio technicians, telephone and telegraph communication technicians). In the school building, the technical school occupied three floors. The technical school was supported by funds from various organizations for which it trained personnel: the regional Council National economy, Morflot, Northern Regional Shipping Company, All-Union Electrotechnical Association, Exportles, Severoles, city railway, Communications Department. In 1932, the technical school was taken over by the People's Commissariat of Communications of the USSR and became known as the Arkhangelsk Technical School of Communications.

It is a branch of the St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications named after Professor M.A. Bonch-Bruevich.

Within the framework of professional educational programs of secondary vocational education implemented at the college, two profiles are provided: technical (specialty groups: 11.00.00 Electronics, radio engineering and communication systems, 09.00.00 Informatics and Computer Science) and information security: (specialty group: 10.00.00 Information safety). Besides full-time distance learning programs are being implemented.

Entrance tests

Admission to a college (branch) of the university for training in basic professional educational programs of secondary vocational education is carried out for the first year upon the personal application of citizens.

An applicant has the right to submit an application simultaneously for several specialties, for various forms of education, for which the main professional educational programs of secondary vocational education are implemented in a university college (branch), as well as simultaneously for places at the expense of budgetary allocations of the federal budget and for places under agreements for the provision of paid educational services with individuals and (or) legal entities.
